This page provides detailed information about networks Sakis3G script supports. You can find list of supported operators of your version by issuing "sakis3g help".

Multiple APNs

Some operators offer multiple APNs (Access Point Names). If using 9menu interface, you will be prompted to select the correct one anytime you attempt to connect. If not using 9menu interface, or wishing to skip selecting it each time, you need to supply FORCE_APN variable.

Choosing the correct APN is essential for connection to succeed. Choosing the wrong one, may even trigger additional (roaming) costs. Common reasons behind multiple APNs being offered, are:

  1. Operator provides access to other "virtual" operators through its own network.
  2. Operator provides multiple billing plans (postpay vs. pre-pay, commercial vs. business, volume-based-billing vs. time-based-billing).
  3. Operator provides different APN per connection speed (2G, 3G, 3G+, 4G).
  4. Operator provides backwards compatibility to SIMs/modems it sold in the past.
  5. Operator has received subscribers from networks that have shut their operation down.

(*) All Vistream resellers (and not just Solomo and GlobalSIM mentioned in table) are supported through the same APN. If you are a customer of a Vistream reseller, you may encounter problems using Sakis3G script. Sakis3G script only allows 4-digit PIN numbers.
